This exercise is for advanced stretchers because it requires flexibility in the legs and hips, and coordination. It is an ideal way to warm up and engage all muscles in the legs, while stretching the hips and hamstrings.
Step 1. Begin by getting into a plank position, with your body parallel to the floor, and your shoulders over your wrists.
Step 2. Step your right leg forward at a 90 degree angle, outside of your right hand. Make sure that your knee is correctly lined up over your foot.
Step 3. Step the foot back into a plank position, and repeat on the other side.
Step 4. Continue this stretch until your hips feel warmed up and loosened.
